The Eyrarland Statue is a bronze statue of a seated figure from about AD 1000 that was recovered at the Eyrarland farm in the area of Akureyri, Iceland.
Original Norse sources such as the Hallfreðar saga attest to the use of small statuettes such as these for personal devotional purposes. In addition, Adam of Bremen described the worship of three distinct statues at the temple of Uppsala. In his in Gesta Hammaburgensis ecclesiae pontificum, he describes statues of Odin, Thor and Freyr being the center of worship in the Temple.
